How do I get ready for my branding photoshoot?
A guideline made for you!
Congratulations on taking the leap to enhance your brand visuals and stepping in front of the camera. It's a big decision, and you're probably wondering how to prepare for it. Don't worry; I'm here to help.
First of, what is a personal brand?

My definition of a personal brand is...
you.
The way you portray yourself to your audience is crucial in building a connection with them and demonstrating your brand values. By showcasing yourself on your website or social media platforms, you have the opportunity to communicate your brand's message and values through visuals. This can lead to increased engagement, loyalty, and ultimately, business growth. So take the time to create a strong online presence that accurately represents your brand and resonates with your audience.
Let's get into it
This is a guide to what my clients have previously used to facilitate their preparation process.
The reason you receive this guide is that the creative direction in your brand package is not included. This does not mean that you are not getting benefits to help you uplift your brand.
without ado, enjoy!

1. Shed light on your brand identity
What do you want your audience to see?
What are 3 words that stand out when you speak about your brand?
What are your brand values?
When working with a photographer, it's important to communicate your brand's message and values clearly. Share your brand guidelines, including your logo and color scheme, and discuss the tone you want to set for your brand. This will help your photographer understand your brand's personality and create visuals that align with your messaging.
Additionally, consider the types of visuals that will resonate with your audience. What kind of imagery will capture their attention and communicate your brand's message effectively? Work with your photographer to create a shot list that includes a variety of images that showcase your brand and appeal to your target audience.
2. Browsing through Pinterest and social media- influencers
With so much content available online, it's highly likely that someone else has created similar visuals or been inspired by the same images that you are aiming to recreate. However, this doesn't mean that you cannot stand out and create unique and engaging visuals that resonate with your audience.
One way to stand out is to infuse your own brand personality and values into the visuals you create. consider adding your own unique twist to the inspirational images you find on Pinterest and Instagram. This can be done through creative editing techniques, unique angles or compositions, or by incorporating your own products or services into the visuals.
3. Preparing a must-have list.
By creating a must-have/ short list of photos you would absolutely want for your website or social media platform. If you work closely with a web designer, you can always ask for their opinion or recommendation about the photo you want to capture.
4. Preparing your outfits and makeup and hair by connecting with your community
As the face of your brand, it's important to present yourself in a way that aligns with your brand identity and values. This includes not only the visuals you create but also your personal appearance. When it comes to your personal appearance, consider how you can best represent your brand through your hair and attire. This may mean incorporating your brand's color scheme into your wardrobe or choosing a hairstyle that aligns with your brand's personality. By presenting yourself in a way that reflects your brand, you can create consistency across all touchpoints and help build brand recognition.
Additionally, connecting with local businesses can be a great way to network and build relationships within your community. By supporting local businesses, you can show your commitment to your community and potentially attract new customers who share the same values.
I always recommend checking out local businesses that will help you in that process. It is the perfect way to support and network! Nowadays, it is so common to have a business repost on their stories. It also provides an opportunity to build connections with potential clients.

5. Get some good rest,
Planning a photoshoot or visual session takes a lot of time and effort. It's important to prioritize your own self-care in the process to ensure that you show up looking and feeling your best. This includes planning your outfit and accessories to reflect your brand identity and values. You want to feel confident and comfortable in what you're wearing, as this will show through in the visuals and help you connect with your audience.
In addition to your appearance, prioritizing self-care also means getting enough sleep and taking care of your emotional well-being. Your emotions can show through in the visuals, so it's important to take the time to center yourself and get in a positive headspace before the shoot.
Remember, your visuals are a representation of your brand and can have a significant impact on how your audience perceives you. By taking the time to plan and prioritize self-care, you can create visuals that are not only visually appealing but also authentic and engaging for your audience.
6. Communicate with your photographer!
I can understand that you may have a zillion questions about your session, if you chose me as your photographer it's probably because our work aligns and we understand each other. Remember, your photographer and stylist are there to support you and help bring your vision to life. So, don't be afraid to ask questions and communicate your needs and preferences throughout the process. By working together, you can create visuals that are not only visually appealing but also authentic and engaging for your audience. So, let's collaborate and create something amazing!
